My hands were tied with my best intentions.
Wound, knotted in the pit of my stomach
Like our limbs were in the better days.
I must confess that I’ve held the weight of regret in my hands.
It rendered them useless.
her ghost has brought consequences that I’ve lived with.
hollow eyes, sunken hopes.
It’s been that same age old pain.
Your pulse weakened.
And the ruins of my heart weren’t as beautiful as hers:
Rebuilt into a kingdom. Flawless and pure.
So I scaled those walls and set fire to old love
But lost in the chaos of it all.
When the rain came and washed away the flames
I knew I was defeated.
I knew pain.
